Travel Unplugged - A New Trend in Wellness Travel

Many travelers are redefining travel connections. Instead of training for those familiar 'travel-olympic-games' that include: laptop lugging, Wifi wishing, roaming charge-raging, wall-socket scavenger hunt and speed surfing, travelers are looking to turn off the electronics and turn on to the destination and their surroundings. Becoming 'Unplugged' is a Wellness Niche that goes beyond the time it takes to get a spa treatment. It's a refreshing state of mind that conjures up the difference between the solo vibrant artistry of an acoustic guitar session versus the in-your-face noise of an electronic jam session. In this participatory session we will be looking at: the characteristics of unplugged travel; how to qualify your clients to this specialty wellness niche; examples of 'unplugging' activities and destinations (everything from all inclusives to temples, and from bus tours to trekking); dispelling some of the myths about 'unplugged' travel; unplugging your client before they even leave your office (storytelling, music and booze); using your travel connections to engage your clients; promotional ideas; how this will affect the agency/home office bottom line.
